Grant Application Timeline for 2026-27 school year:

Implementation Fall 2026
Fall Application: ​Grant guidelines below apply.
September 1, 2026 to November 1, 2026
OEF will notify grant recipients in mid-November.

Implementation Winter 2026
Winter Application: Grant guidelines below apply.
November 15, 2026 to January 15, 2027
OEF will notify grant recipients in February 2027.

Implementation Spring 2027
Spring Application: Grant guidelines below apply.
February 1, 2027 to April 1, 2027
OEF will notify grant recipients in mid-April 2027.

Grant guidelines

OUSD Students may request up to $500.
OUSD teachers may request up to $1,000.
Joint OUSD teacher/department proposals may request up to $3,500.
Matching funds from PTA/PTO/NPA or other organizations are encouraged.
​Funding requests after deadlines will not be accepted. OEF grants are non-transferable. Only the named grantee is eligible to receive funding.
Any modifications to the grants must have OEF Board approval prior to the modification.
After a grant has been awarded, a brief report including documentation of spending, outcomes, and photographs of the project must be submitted to OEF within one month of grant award. 

Traditional OEF Grant preferences

​OEF is seeking proposals for educational projects that demonstrate the powerful and positive impact of public education. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit proposals that are in alignment with OUSD Priority ​Areas:
1) Environmental Stewardship and Regeneration
2) Creativity and Arts
​3) Wellness-including mental, physical, and emotional health
4) Cultivating a Culture of Inclusivity. 

Student Grants

​OUSD students may apply for grants of up to $500 to support their academic, artistic or athletic endeavors. Student Grants can be used for attending performances, training or classes, senior projects, student clubs, special field trips, service projects for the community or schools, or an enhancement to a class or school.

Employee/Teacher Grants

Partner Organizations:

OUSD Employees may apply for grants that support an innovative classroom initiative or curriculum, or addresses a major need at a school site, across a grade level, or in a specific academic area.
